Loving God - Loving People

Hey Kids! What is the most important thing to God? Jesus was asked this question in Matthew 22… The religious leaders were trying their very best to trick JESUS and make Him look bad but it didn't work… (it never worked!!)… So, they asked Jesus what is the most important thing to God (greatest commandment)? Jesus did not hesitate to answer the question, here is what HE said in verses 37-39…

“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

The most important thing to God is that we love HIM and that we love people. But remember that when we love someone, it has to be shown in our actions. We need to pray, read our Bibles, and worship God because we love Him. We also need to do nice things for others and be kind because we love people. If its important to God, then it should be important to us!

Praying that you will have a "Soft Heart"

This last Sunday I shared with you guys about the “The Parable of the Farmer” from Luke 8:4-15… Do you remember how many different kinds of people there were in this story? Jesus talked about 4 different kinds of people, but only 1 of them was truly a Christian. I have been thinking about you guys this week and praying that you will be like the person with a soft heart, ready to receive truth from GOD and grow with HIM everyday…

Luke 8:15
And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest.

This is what JESUS said the person who has a heart that is ready to believe in HIM will be like; they will truthful and honest, good-hearted, friendly, and kind, they hear and obey God’s Word and they love to read the Bible, and they will have the fruit of the Spirit growing in them… The fruit of the Spirit is found in Galatians 5:22-23 (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.)

I am praying that you will truly believe in JESUS as your Savior, that you will love GOD with all of your heart, and that you will have the fruit of the Spirit growing in your heart as you get closer and closer to JESUS!!

Hey Kids! Did you know that as Christians we are “representatives” of JESUS? That means that we are God’s “spokesperson” or “messenger”! It is our job to show the world the love of GOD and tell others HIS message. HIS message is known as the “Gospel” which is the GOOD NEWS that Jesus loves them and died on the cross for their sins… The question is, “How will you show God’s Love to the kids, teachers, and administrators at your school this year?

If you are going to show others the love of JESUS then you have to have the love of JESUS in you! You already know that GOD loved you so much that HE sent HIS SON to die for your sin. So, because GOD loved you so much, you need to show others the love of GOD… Here are some ideas that kids from our Church told me…

1. Be kind to others
2. Pray before eating lunch to show others that you prayer is a part of your life
3. Meet with other Christians at your school to pray for kids who are unbelievers.
4. Become friends with kids who seem to have no other friends

**These were ideas from ALCF KIDS… they shared that these were ways that they could represent Christ in their schools!
